Great collection and a wonderful site. I'm looking forward to being part of an online diecast community again, as I used to post under this screen name at www.modelhangar.com. My collection is predominantly military at traditional plastic model scales of 1 32, 48 and 72 with a few 144s and a single Hobbymaster 1/200 C-54. I have a rather large collection and fortunately an understanding lady who lets me enjoy the hobby. Looking forward to discussing our hobby more with you all.
Thanks for the welcome! I have never belonged to any chat groups, but Troy talked me into joining when the group was just starting. You can see that it has taken me several weeks to join the group. Since it's taken me a number of weeks to join I was just not sure about joining. Now you can see that I have no clue as to how chat groups work and I'm slowly getting help from Matt and I will talk with Troy of Troy's Toys when he's back at the shop.
I really liked the photos of your collection and your display of the collection. I hope that when I'm ready to work on display room or my man cave that it will turn out as nice as your display of aircraft. I just purchase a short time ago a display case from a person selling it in Abilene, Kansas. It was an early MatchBox display case with glass all around the case with all it's lighting. I just need to work on changing the sign on the top of the case. I've got some ideas as to how I want to display the aircraft which I hope that I will be in a 2 or 3 years.
I have 38 large tubes for all the 1:72nd scale models and the larger 1:72nd models like the bomber are taking up 1/2 of the walking in closet. This is taking up 1/2 of the closet space and Mary Ann hasn't said anything, but there are some hints about the situation. I have about 30 large boxes of 1:72nd scale models. I hope you don't mind me writing so much but I just am so WWII Aircraft of WWII History. When ready and basement is ready I will build a WWII American Airbase with P-51 Mustang in Europe using the 352nd Fighter Group called the "BLUENOSE BASTARDS of BODNEY"!
Me too! The red-100 is so nice. The 707s look pretty good too, I have ochre. It's such an ugly color it looks cool. The 707, 757, or 777 could make any livery or color look good, IMO.
That's awesome!!! WOW, thank you! I can't tell you how fun it is for me to be able to have a place to post pictures of my collection, and chat about the hobby! This site has really re-energized my enthusiasm for this hobby and I'm really honored by your selection! Thanks again!!
Woooowww!
I'm far away from your impressive collection and lacks personally some more glas shelves for my planes!!!
Estonishing!

Hey Matt, No one has come up with answer to my question on my site and how I got into collecting Diecast Aircraft. I give them out there a little hint. Have the members check-out the landing-gear and have them send the answer to you. Then you can give them to Troy or bring them to Troys on some Sat. I get to Troy's sometime around noon if you want to meet me there and I'll bring a couple of model by from my 1:48 Scale Mustangs. Cheers, Bob
Hi Matt, I forgot to mention that they would have to look at a Franklin Mint P-51 Mustang and it's landing gear. I'm sorry to forget that part in my last message to you. Cheers, Bob
Thank you very much, Matt! I noticed that numbers of my photos are not detailed enough. I think I will erase them and replace with more precise ones, with less models on them.
Well Jolly-Roger has arrived in his own special custom plane. I sit on one side and reps from the Tortuga Airforce have the other. So far no engine failures.
Thanks for the welcome Matt. I'll add mor contributions after finding my way round.
The site is awesome! Great stuff bud! I was thinking of sending you a message asking if I could help with the site on a volunteer basis? Anything I can do to help.
I am relatively new to the hobby (5 years now), but that doesn't mean that I don't have the passion. I have started a Squidoo lens about the hobby and I'm always looking for help and partners. I am really looking forward to being an active member on your site. I will spread the word and help you whenever and for whatever you need.
I also have some business ideas that I'd like to bounce off you if you are interested. You cabinets are great and the newsletter is wonderful idea!
Really nice!!! I love those L-1011's. I just bought my first 3- two 7474 and one A388, came in the mail today. I'm now looking and ordering more. I can see this getting out of hand. Nice cabinet to they look really good in there; keeping them safe and clean.
Sorry for the late reply. I LOVE that Southwest 'Florida One' video...it's excellent! Thanks for commenting!
I will respond to your other email this week as I am pretty busy these days. I'd love to contribute to the site. Also, I am contemplating forging some business relationships on here as I would like to make the move to becoming a Distributor or an online shop, etc...Do you have any experience in this Matt or even know someone?
I want to thank you so much for creating the banner for me and featuring me on your main page! Very very nice of you man! I have amended my blog to hilight your site as well. Take a look and tell me what you think okay? I'm really excited about the future of MAC.com!
Hey there Matt! Sorry for slacking. I hope to start utilizing banners in the near future, but here's what I can do so far, as well as more info with your link on our small, but growing forum:
Thanks. I have about 260 models (mostly brazilian, latin american and portuguese airliners)... it will be a hard job taking pictures of each one and upload it!
thanks for the welcome matt! i understand now about the magazine. this site has become amazingly robust! if i can lend a design hand for the magazine in the future (provided i have time) let me know. i would love to do it.
Thanks for your welcome. Have lived in Kalispell MT.for over 11 years. Collector of diecast airplane for many years. My local airport in the U.K.was London Stansted which I saw develop over the years from 1967 to its current level of activity. My Wife was P.A. to the M.D. of Heavylift Cargo Airlines which proved interesting to me with their Shorts Belfasts,Conroy Guppy, and eventually the Volga Dnepr AN 124's Not so much activity here locally at Glacier Park International after Stansted!..
My dad recently passed and enjoyed many years building an extensive model airplane collection. Many of his planes were flown only once and all have motors and controllers in perfect condition. My brothers and I are planning to keep a few as heirlooms, but we are interested in appraising the value of his collection and selling the majority. There are also several models still unopened in the box and his collection dates back at least thirty years. Can you offer some advice on how to best go about this?
We just did some testing using screen sharing... If we manually set his DNS server to 4.2.2.2 instead of the ones from his ISP, then MAC loads... so I think it's a problem with his router maybe? Or perhaps the route his router is using...? Anyway, I hope it gets worked out.
thanks for the welcome, Matt....im impressed by your number of collection...its incredible...wish i had so much space and room for such beautiful models...by the way at present, im to 1/72 military aircraft diecast model and just begun collecting 2 years ago....i love collecting in the future civil airline aircrafts too....with so much beautiful liveries of foreign airlines....surely cant get enough
