thanks matt i use to live in independence do you know of any air shows coming down around my area? thanks and nice collection heres a couple of photos of my first 2 planes they were cheap just $2.00 each ive just started in the planes with only the military ones i do mostly plastic models but couldnt pass these up
Yea, I need to take some pics, but also have to 'stage' them first. Need more display cabinets and stuff like that. I have a pretty large Aero Mini collection, as far as Aero Minis go. They did not have the variety that newer productions have like Gemini, Inflight, & Herpa etc. But I have several AA 727s (100 series only with Aero Minis), 707s & 1 AA 747, a couple of TWA 727s, 707s, several DC-9-10s, & 1 (or 2?) 747s, a few United 737-100s, a few Piedmont 737-100s, many Ozark DC-9-10s (My fav little airline - flew them a lot 'back in the day' 'cuz Fam is in near Springfield, MO), a couple Northwest 727-100s, 707s, & 2 747s, several Eastern 727-100s, DC-9-10s, & 1 DC-8, 1 Japan Airlines DC-8, a couple of Braniff 727-100s one red and one blue, Pan Am 707s & 1 747, and a few 'modernized' Aero-minis like a Delta 727-100, USAIR 737-100s.
I have other models from 'back in the day' as well, smaller Bachmans & Lintoys like TWA L-1011s and Air France L-1011s, and more recently a really cool Hogan TWA 757 w/ stand. I have a great love for TWA & Ozark airlines since I flew them a lot growing up going back & forth w/ my parents between DC and St. Louis on TWA and then the little Ozark flights down to Springfield on Fokker Fairchild F-27s (luv those old props) & early DC-9-10s & 30s. Ozark in the 80s actually expanded greatly & had also flights from DC (National) to St. Louis regularly. Even had one flight that went on to Springfield w/out a change !
Ah, I miss those days oh so very much. Used to fly from Dulles to the west coast with Dad to LA and San Fran on TWA L-1011s, United DC-10s, and American DC-10s. Btw, LA Rocks no matter what anyone says.
I was fired up about Gemini's line of 250 scale models 'cuz the wheels retracted like the aero-minis and were more modern and better detail. So I almost forgot that I do have a Delta DC-8 !
thanks for the welcome, Matt....im impressed by your number of collection...its incredible...wish i had so much space and room for such beautiful models...by the way at present, im to 1/72 military aircraft diecast model and just begun collecting 2 years ago....i love collecting in the future civil airline aircrafts too....with so much beautiful liveries of foreign airlines....surely cant get enough

Matt, great collection. I can't believe the detail in the models. I can almost here the sounds of the turbines and smell the fuel.
