Model Airplane Collectors 1st ever Member Get-Together!

We are in the very early stages of trying to organize our 1st ever Member Get-Together! We have a few ideas in mind and need to get an idea of those members who would be interested in taking part. We are currently trying to make arrangements with Roger Jarman, owner of Atlantic-Models, for a member tour of their shop where they produce the finest custom made resin models in any scale! Atlantic-Models is located in Miami, Florida.
Roger just happens to be the President of the Historical Flight Foundation. As part of our Member Get-Together I am working with Roger to charter their fully restored Eastern Airlines DC-7B for a members only round-trip flight to Key West! The flight takes about 40 minutes each way and would allow for several hours in Key West for members to do some site-seeing and maybe grab a group lunch!
We would try to book as a group through the site to keep the cost of the trip to a minimum. We would be looking at a two to three night stay in Miami, Florida. Package price would include hotel plus flight on the DC-7B. Each member would be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Miami.
Depending on the number of members interested, chartering the DC-7B to St. Maarten would be an option. We would have to have a full flight to keep the price per member within reason. The plane can seat 50 passengers. The cost of the flight is fully tax deductible as the Historical Flight Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization. Members would need a passport to fly to St. Maarten.

Depending on the response we get we hope to set the trip for sometime in the next six months. If we can get enough members interested and can coordinate an effort before the end of the year that would be Awesome!

I very interested. I was just looking at the Historical Flight page and pondering signing up for one of the Key West trips. I will wait and see whether this materializes. I am in North Carolina, so Miami is quite doable. Thanks for thinking about this.

A trip to the most exciting approach in the world! I'd love to set foot on Mojo Beach. I smell a road trip to Miami! I hope this could take place when our children are on summer vacation.
