Whilst at the French Airforce Base at Orange in Provonce in 1962, a Squadron of RAF Javelins was staging through. One had undercarriage problems and dropped its ventral tank as a safety precaution. Packs of 200 cigarettes came raining down over the French countryside. They where being smuggled home from Malta in the recess between the fuel tank and the fuselage.
