Hi Robert.  Yes just shy of that amount.  Plane was in rough shape to start with.  Once putty was removed from the side it exposed a huge gash in the body as well.  Shown in the pics.  Also had to pay for the custom built stand as the model did not come with a stand.   And the entire livery was changed to reflect the final G-BOAD.  Trust me decals from scratch in that size are not cheap :( .  Custom build thrust reversers, tail fin (tip) chines and ventral antenna.  In the end I bit the bullet but the result, in person, is truly amazing.

2 grand???? well result does seem worth it fred!

Hi Ben it was close to 2 grand US$ in restorations.

Thanks so much Ken glad you liked that.  No unfortunately I am no that gifted and the restoration was done by a professional outfit known as Blap Models that specializes in Resin/fiberglass modeling (primarily aerospace).  They did a great job.  If you have not done so you can see the process through my before and after pics.  Cheers and thanks again Ken.

Simply STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE it!!! Did you do the restoration yourself? I love doing restorations! (When they go well that is lol)!
