Last night I saw where a visitor was talking about the T-90, I think it also called the Black Eagle. They came out in 1/144 WTM 06. It was about the only set that had the M1A2, Merkavas, Leopards, T-80s and the Black Eagle. its kind of funny because of the cost per tank Russia can't afford the tank but must stay with the T-80.

Besides the above said tanks I also have in 1/144 the ChallgerII and the LerClare. I have like 120 of each, the leopard number 240 and the Russia's at 180.

I got my teeth into this because of Micro Machines Military and still collect them and use the MMM support vehicles like the M2s, M113s, Fuchs etc to form the Mech Inf to support the tank formation, think little

Hello Randy,

Actually all three tanks use a different auto-loader. Please refer to the following link:

Well I guess I should do something, like your right and I'm wrong, but don't both tanks use the auto-loader from the T-72

For this occasion, may I add that:

"in 1997, manufacturers in Omsk introduced the "Tcherny Orel" (Black eagle) tank. An automatic loader was installed in the neck of the profiled turret. Two frames are tested: the T80-D and a multi-role version with seven rollers. It remained at the stage of a demonstration of technology. Meanwhile, the engineers from Nizhny Taguil develop the "Obiekst 195", presented in the press as the T-95. The inhabited turret with a reduced size is equipped with a 125mm cannon, a common caliber, but is longer and more powerful. The 1st prototype is now under development." Woow! Should I become a Russian material specialist too? LOL!

Hello Randy,

If I have gotten you correctly, you were saying that the T-90 is also called the Black Eagle. That is not so accurate as both are different tanks. The T-90 is called Vladimir in honor of T-90 Chief Designer Vladimir Potkin. It is also a modernization of the T-72 (it was originally to be called the T-72BU, later renamed to T-90).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-90

The Black Eagle on the other hand is a presumed Russian tank project that is said to have been cancelled by sone people and imaginary by some Russian military personnel.

The sketches of the Black Eagle resemble the latest tank in the Russian inventory called the T-90MS. This is a modernization of the original T-90 Vladimir.

You can check our my article on Russian tanks called "Caution! Russian tanks are coming"..
