Hi, my friends!

I just scanned these old photos.

They show my father in 2 of them, aged 21 in 1946.

He was beginning as an Air Controller at Rennes Saint Jacques airfield, Brittany (and just married my mother too !!).

The RAF controllers had left and "given the stick" to french people.

At this time, General Charles de Gaulle made some visits to french airports to officialize young French freedom.

He used a C54, gift from President Harry Truman and was escorted by French P47D of Groupe de Chasse GC 2/3 "Champagne" wearing code C9-x and the "Charognard" (or golden hawk of the 1st squ.) triangular insignia.

Look at these testimonial souvenirs!

Regards

Papi Jeff
