An awesome Day at RAF Coningsby and RAF Waddington.

On the 1st of June 2012 I decided to head over to Lincoln to Visit RAF Coningsby and RAF Waddington.

I left Derby at 07:15am and arrived at RAF Waddington at 08:30am but there wasnt much happening there so I headed straight for RAF Coningsby and arrived at 09:15am.

Within a few mins of setting my camera up (Canon EOS 20D) the first Typhoon was on finals.
It was rather dark as the cloud base was abit low but it was a really good day.

Well ill let the pics do the talking now so enjoy!:

I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw this old girl on approach, I thaught all F.3's had been scrapped!, one of only two F.3's left flying, based at RAE Boscombe Down, used for Missle Training.
Really nice to see and to me the "star of the show!"

Typhoon BF performed a missed approach, you can clearly see how low the cloud base was at some points.

After the Final King Air Arrived I began to pack up my camera, sods law that A typhoon then appeared on finals on delivery from Warton and I just managed to get it back to get a good few photos of her.
RAF Eurofighter Typhoon DL ZJ929 11th SQDN:

I then packed my stuff up once again and headed back to RAF Waddington.

I was in the Wave getting myself a nice Double Cheese Burger when a C-17 appeared on downwind.

I thaught id missed it so I took my time, but thankfully when I got to my bike she had just began her first of 3 touch and go's and 1 missed approach.

RAF C-17A Globemaster III ZZ173 99 SQDN:

After the C-17 departed A TNT B757-200F arrived, I am told they are chartered for moving cargo between AWACS bases.

I thaught Id get a good picture of this beauty for old times sake:

RAF Avro Vulcan B.2A XM607 44 SQDN Blackbuck2:

About half hour after the TNT B757-200F arrived she then Departed back to a French AWACS base.

I then packed my things then picked up a Fighter Control patch as I am classing this as my first Airshow.

I left RAF Waddington at about 16:30 and arrived home at 18:30 due to really bad traffic.

All in all a very good day besides the traffic, I really want to become a regular there as the people at both bases are so friendly and the aircraft are really cool too.

Well thanks for checking out my blog guys, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Please be nice as these are again raw Photos and havent been edited as my computer wont accept Photoshop 10.

Please feel free to add comments as I love to hear what people think about my photos and things I do.

Thanks mate, yeah it was a really good day, I finally met the guys over at Fighter Control too, Yeah I saw the practise for it, although when I arrived on Dogdyke Road I did see a WWII service man going into the BBMF entrance so I think he might have been a special guest to view it, The Spitfire also did a flypast, to me mate Aircraft are always better in person.

Nice photos and blog! That must have been cool to see! I saw the flypast on tv for the Diamond Jubilee but probably would have been much better in person.
