RAF Coningsby Enthusiast's Day 2012

We set off from Castle Donington at 07:15am and arrived via RAF Cranwell at 08:30 to meet Rick and the lads from Break Away Aviation Tours.
We entered the base at 10:30am and walked straight into the static display.
Well here are the pics, the sun was out for most of the day witch was a surprise as the forecast predicted Thunderstorms. Any way without further ado:
I saw a picture of this Hawk T.2 on www.fightercontrol.co.uk only a few days ago and I really like the look of her, I was hoping to see her once this year but I didn't think it would be this soon! What a treat though! Only a shame this Squadron couldn't celebrate their 100th anniversary with Harrier GR.9's!

I was told that when the Sea Fury arrived she damaged her right wing by taxiing into a set of air stairs that someone had left in the middle of the taxi way.

Whilst we were heading out of Coningsby and over to the mound on the far side the BBMF dragged their Spitfire back into their hanger and this Typhoon was playing around:

2 2nd Sqn Tornado GR.4A's ran in from both sides to commence the Role Demo but weirdly one seemed to disappear? I assume it was due to the bad patch of rain we had rolling in just after, Here she is on one of the final passes.

We then headed home via RAF Cranwell again after the rain set in:

Sorry for bad quality on some of the flying shots, iv not edited any of them yet.
Now I know few people around here don't like others posting pictures of real aircraft here but there Aircraft at the end of the day and we all like them so what's wrong with posting them?
